Matthew Harding is the lucky recipient of forty beers, largely due to a recent birthday. While hardly a qualified Beer Connoisseur, I have been known to put a few ales, lagers, bitters and draughts (among others) away in my time. I will be sharing my thoughts, hopes and dreams while enjoying these beers on a vaguely regular basis. Beer and curry, Beer and Bar-Be-Que / BBQ, a quite beer, and a beer with friends are all some of my favourite combinations. Which raises in interesting point – beer on its own is not all that great. A shared beer, on the other hand, makes all the difference.
I should point out that all opinions on FortyBeers.com are mine and mine alone…. with the exception of my Special Guests, where their opinions are theirs only as well. Just because I like or dislike a particular beer does NOT mean that you should believe me ! ALL BEER IS GOOD BEER. However, some beers are more equal than others…
I might also share a few beer recipes, and beer related suggestions. An occasional Home Brew is cooked up in the summer at my place, and enjoyed through the following winter. Some of these Home Brews have been spectacular in their success, and others in their failure.

I also enjoy making music. Saxophones, vocals and keyboards are my instruments of choice. Various bands have come and gone. My Relaxation Music and Techno Music have been quite successful. And let me just say that “band beer” or the “ryder” usually tastes much better than bought beer.
